The device has a decorating rod with a flexible sealing rim (6), where the sealing rim is raised by rolling a roll on a side of a support profile of the decorating rod together with a cover of the decorating rod. The sealing rim is formed at an outer side of decorating rod with a flexible T-shaped outer edge (7). The outer edge has a J-shaped bending that turns away from the sealing rim in a side that faces a vehicle body (2). Outer edge of the decorating rod and a boundary of a welding groove (1) are distanced together in the vehicle body. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a sealing rim in a decorating rod.
