<p>The present invention is concerned with aryl-4-ethynyl-isoxazole derivatives of formula (I) wherein R<SUP>1</SUP> to R<SUP>5</SUP> are as described in the specification, R<SUP>5</SUP> representing an optionally substituted aryl or heteroaryl. It has been found that this class of compounds show high affinity and selectivity for GABA A a5 receptor binding sites, being useful as cognitive enhancer or for the treatment of cognitive disorders like Alzheimer's disease.</p> |
