<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus using paper supply control in which timing to stop a supplied recording medium is generated, the image forming apparatus exhibiting stable fixing property and an image on a thick recording medium by a conveying means and preventing a thin transmissive recording medium from winding round a fixing device. <P>SOLUTION: The oscillator/receiver of an ultrasonic sensor is caused to abut on a conveying roller in the timing to stop the recording medium, and ultrasonic waves are oscillated/received, thereby discriminating the kind of paper, and a processing condition (fixing temperature, transfer bias and the conveying speed of the recording medium or the like) is changed according to the kind of paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
