PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal in which when a rib for receiving an infrared communication filter is provided, the rib does not interrupt an infrared communication effective range thereby does not disturb infrared communication. SOLUTION: The communication terminal device is provided with: an infrared module with a light receiving part and a light emitting part and arranged inside a housing; and a cover part attached to a side face of the housing, facing the light receiving part and the light emitting part and transmitting an infrared light, wherein a reinforcing rib 21 for supporting the infrared communication filter 10 at a filter part mounting position of an LCD mounted side case 12 is arranged at a position that faces a middle position between the light receiving part and the light transmitting part arranged side by side inside the LCD mounted side case 12 and that does not cause the interference of the reinforcing rib 21 with respect to a light receiving part light receiving area and a light emitting part light emitting area of the LCD mounted side case 12.
