A washing machine having a balancer is provided to reduce noise due to the balancer and prevent occurrence of direct collision between mass bodies by forming a shock absorbing member. A washing machine having a balancer comprises a housing, a rotary tub, and a balancer(20). The rotary tub is rotates in the housing. The balancer, which is installed at the rotary tub, includes a balancer housing(21) having a race as a ring shaped space inside, plural mass bodies(23) moving in the race, and a shock absorbing member(24) between each mass body. The shock absorbing member shaped like cylinder is arranged toward the mass bodies whose two ends are adjacent.
