DISCHARGE LAMP STARTING DEVICE, DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE, AND HEADLIGHT DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp starting device for restraining partial discharge without depending on charging, to provide a discharge lamp lighting device using the discharge lamp starting device, and to provide a headlight device using the discharge lamp lighting device.

SOLUTION: The discharge lamp starting device comprises: a circuit block 2 where a discharge lamp starting circuit for generating a high voltage for starting a discharge lamp is mounted; a case 3 that is made of an insulating material and stores the circuit block 2; a shield case 4 that is made of a conductive material and covers the case 3; and an insulating member 7 that is made of an insulating material and is interposed between a part that becomes a high voltage and the inner surface of the case 3 in the circuit block 2. The insulating member 7 can suppress the partial discharge between the circuit block 3 and the shield case 4. Manufacturing costs for manufacture are reduced as compared with a case using packing and the need for providing the circuit block 2 and the case 3 with a structure for controlling the flow of a filler is eliminated, thus miniaturizing the discharge lamp starting device.
