<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device capable of reducing cross talk and improving display quality. <P>SOLUTION: The electro-optical device is an image display device using the parallax barrier method capable of performing two-screen display or stereoscopic image display, and comprises a display panel, a parallax barrier, and a control part. The display panel has a plurality of data lines, a plurality of scanning lines, and pixel electrodes disposed at the intersections of the plurality of data lines and the plurality of scanning lines. The control part corrects the electric potential to be applied to a predetermined pixel electrode in such a manner that when the electric potential is smaller than an electric potential applied to an adjoining pixel electrode by a predetermined amount or more, it adds a predetermined voltage, and when the electric potential is larger than an electric potential applied to an adjoining pixel electrode by a predetermined amount or more, it subtracts a predetermined voltage, thereby reducing the impact of the cross talk caused by displaying one image together with the other image on the same screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
