PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of dichloropropanol from glycerol. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of dichloropropanol comprising subjecting glycerol to a reaction with a chlorinating agent where the reaction is carried out in a liquid reaction medium in the presence of a catalyst based on a carboxylic acid or a carboxylic acid derivative with the catalyst concentration in the liquid medium in terms of the molar number of the acid and the acid derivative based on 1 kg of the liquid medium of at least 0.1 mol/kg and at most 10 mol/kg.
