PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for highly productively producing a polyoxyalkylene adduct in which discoloration is satisfactorily reduced and which is suitably applicable to various applications, particularly, to optical materials and light resistant materials, and to provide such a polyoxyalkylene adduct. SOLUTION: The method for producing a polyoxyalkylene adduct comprises the steps of mixing and melting an active hydrogen-containing compound and an alkylene oxide beforehand and then subjecting the active hydrogen-containing compound to addition reaction with the alkylene oxide at a reaction temperature of 80-110°C.
