A home lighting apparatus control system using a mobile communication terminal and a method are provided to control operation of a lighting apparatus outside by using a text message of a mobile communication terminal, and to allow the lighting apparatus to have a crime prevention function, thereby sending a warning signal to the user's terminal as a text message if an invader is sensed within a space where the lighting apparatus is installed. In communication repeater(200), data is transmitted from a mobile communication terminal(100) through a mobile communication network(210). A mobile communication center(220) collects various data transmitted through the network(210) as sending the collected data to a receiver, and constructs an SMS(Short Message Service) system. A wired phone connection center(230) manages unspecified wired phone subscribers. In a wired phone network(240), a telephone lines is connected to the center(230) and unspecified homes which use wired phones.
