PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the press structure of a horizontal multistage press apparatus capable of keeping the durability of a pressure plate and a hot plate on the outermost side even if the number of heating pressure stages (the number of the hot plates) increases by making it hard to transmit the heat produced in the hot plate to the pressure plate and devising the structure of the pressure plate. SOLUTION: A plurality of heat insulating plates 144 made of an epoxy resin are respectively fixed and arranged to a surface plate 143 by clamping members 144b such as bolts or the like in order to cut off (restrict) the heat transmitted to the surface plate 143 (and respective rib plates 145) from the hot plate 130 at the time of closure of a press (at the time of heating and pressurization). A predetermined gaps Z are formed between the adjacent heat insulating plates 144 so as to be arranged in the longitudinal direction of the surface plate 143 formed into an oblong rectangular shape. Even if the respective heat insulating plates 144 are brought into contact with the hot plate 130, the gaps Z are formed into a groove shape opened over an up and down direction so as to be opened to the outside.
