BASE FILM FOR PROTECTIVE FILM AND PROTECTIVE FILM COVERED POLARIZING PLATE

<p>Disclosed is a base film for protective films which is excellent in solvent resistance and heat resistance during heating, while having low birefringence. Also disclosed is a protective film covered polarizing plate which is provided with such a film. Specifically disclosed is a base film (10) for protective films which is composed of a three-layer non-oriented film obtained by arranging a polyester film (9) on both sides of a polycarbonate film (8). In this base film (10) for protective films, the ratio of the thickness of the polycarbonate film to the thickness of the polyester film (polycarbonate film thickness/polyester film thickness) is not less than 0.1 but less than 5. Also specifically disclosed is a protective film covered polarizing plate (7) which is obtained by arranging the base film (10) for protective films on one or both sides of a polarizing plate (3).</p>
