<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical multiplexing communication system wherein an optical wavelength division channel and an optical code division channel coexist which are configured by adding the optical code division channel without revising an operating wavelength band of the existing optical wavelength division channel and to provide a delay adjustment method. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical multiplexing communication system wherein the optical code division channel and the optical wavelength division channel can coexist, a WDM channel section 86 is configured to include a wavelength demultiplexer 36 and WDM channels comprising W1 to W4 channels. The wavelength demultiplexer 36 demultiplexes an optical pulse train 83-3, an optical pulse 37 with a wavelength λ<SB>1</SB>in the channel W1 is given to an intensity modulator 114, wherein the pulse is converted into an optical pulse signal of the channel W1 and outputted as a wavelength division optical pulse signal 115 reflecting transmission information of the channel W1. An optical delay unit 116 provides a time delay required not to conform positions of optical pulses configuring a wavelength division optical pulse signal 117 on the time axis to positions of chip pulses configuring a coded optical pulse signal derived from an OCDM channel and with the same wavelength as that of the optical pulses on the time axis to the wavelength division optical pulse signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
