<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst exerting high reactivity in a water gas shift reaction to convert to hydrogen and carbon dioxide by reacting carbon monoxide with water vapor. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for the water gas shift reaction comprising copper oxide, zinc oxide, zirconium oxide, aluminum oxide, an alkali metal element and silicon oxide as indispensable components has respective contents of 20-70 wt.%, 10-60 wt.%, 1-50 wt.%, 1-50 wt.%, 0.5-10 wt.%, and 0.5-2 wt.% in the above order when the whole catalyst is 100 wt.%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
