METHOD OF TRANSFERRING AUDIO/VIDEO/DATA THROUGH SYSTEM BUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit signals in a jitter-free state in a system interconnecting audio, video and data signals available in a compressed form through a bus.

SOLUTION: A bus interface is located at respective signal processing devices, the interface includes a decoder to control the respective interface responsive to a control signal transmitted in one of channels. Data is transmitted in a channel in a superpacket structure. Processing devices which generate a signal to be applied to the bus, such as a receiver which provides MPEG transport packets, for example, include apparatus to form such superpackets. Respective superpackets include at least a transport packet and a timestamp related to the timing of occurrence of the transport packet. The transport packet and the timestamp are located in predetermined positions within respective superpackets.
