PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact valve capable of sealing an orifice by utilizing contraction of a wire formed by shape memory alloy to prolong service life of the wire. SOLUTION: This compact valve 1 is provided with a fixed structure 2 having the orifice 25, a movable structural body 3 being freely movable for the fixed structure 2, the wire 4 formed by the shape memory alloy, and a bias elastic body 5 for giving bias tensile stress to the wire 4, which is engaged with the bias elastic body 5 and is held by a first electrode 6 and a second electrode 7. A protruding part 33 of the movable structural body 3 is engaged with the bias elastic body 5. When carrying electric current to the wire 4 through the first electrode 6 and the second electrode 7, the wire 4 is heated and contracted, and the bias elastic body 5 is deformed to move the movable structural body 3 and seal the orifice 25.
