PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic toner having high infrared absorption efficiency and also having excellent charging stability, to provide an electrophotographic developer comprising the toner, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the toner. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toner essentially consists of lanthanum boride, and preferably comprises zirconium oxide as well. The electrophotographic developer is composed of a two component system comprising the electrophotographic toner and a carrier. The image forming apparatus is characterized in that fixing is performed using the electrophotographic toner by an optical fixing system.
