PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an automatic transmission capable of performing the smooth and highly reliable engagement of a frictional engagement element, equipped with a one-way clutch and the frictional engagement element for speed change capable of reducing the number of components to the minimum and performing the engagement of the frictional engagement element from the engaged state of the one-way clutch by the change of a continuous shift stage. SOLUTION: The supporting structure of the one-way clutch is equipped with a hydraulic servo mechanism Sb of the frictional engagement element on the outer diameter side of the one-way clutch F1, and the hydraulic servo mechanism Sb is equipped with a cylinder member cy therein for storing a piston p movably in the axial direction.
