<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine having improved deactivation resistance, while preventing degradation of a catalyst function due to deposition of liquid droplet additive agent on a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: An oxidation catalyst 30 to which light oil is supplied has a catalyst layer 34 on a carrier 32, consisting of an inner catalyst layer 36 and a surface catalyst layer 38. The same-type catalyst metals are supported on the inner catalyst layer and the surface catalyst layer, and the density of supporting the catalyst metal on the inner catalyst layer is higher than the density of supporting the catalyst metal on the surface catalyst layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
