PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore errors of serial data transfer between a host and a data storage device.

SOLUTION: In a test for an HDD 1, the HDD 1 transfers data to the host 5 according to a command from a test execution control part 521. When the test execution control part 521 discriminates that the predetermined prescribed transfer errors have occurred, the test execution control part 521 instructs the adjustment of a PLL circuit 363 to the HDD 1. A MPU 230 adjusts the PLL circuit 383, in accordance with the instruction from the test execution control part 521 and performs retry of lead process where errors have occurred.
