PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC generator 1 that can be miniaturized axially by restraining the height of the coil end of armature winding 14. SOLUTION: In the armature winding 14, an intermediate folding section 14a of each phase winding is drawn out of the innermost diameter side of a group of coil ends, and output and neutral leading lines 14b, 14c that are both the ends of each phase winding are drawn out of the outermost diameter side of the group of end coils each. In the above configuration, both the ends 14b, 14c of the phase winding and the intermediate folding section 14a are drawn out of the farthest position in the depth direction of a slot in an armature core 13, thus preventing both the ends 14b, 14c of the phase winding from overlapping with the intermediate folding section 14a on the group of coil ends, and hence restraining the height of the coil end in the armature winding 14 to miniaturize the generator 1 axially.
