PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To instantly dissolve the surge pressure of hydraulic oil which may be generated in an injection process, with an apparatus as possible as simple, in an injection apparatus for injecting molten light metal alloy material in an injection cylinder into a metallic mold with a plunger driven with a hydraulic cylinder apparatus. SOLUTION: The injection apparatus comprises a hydraulic cylinder apparatus including a hydraulic cylinder and a piston companied with a plunger, and in this piston, a relief mechanism for performing the relief of the hydraulic operating oil from an injection side oil chamber to a retreating side oil chamber in the hydraulic cylinder is built in. This relief mechanism is composed of: a relief oil passage containing a communicating oil chamber for communicating from the injection side oil chamber to the retreating side oil chamber; a poppet valve for opening/closing the relief oil passage by advancing/retreating with the same axis in this communicating oil chamber ; and a compressing coil spring which is built in the position with the same axis and pushes the above poppet valve toward the injection side oil chamber with a prescribed pushing force.
