<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle type determining program, and a vehicle type determining apparatus, capable of determining a vehicle type accurately irrespective of a setting condition of an imaging device. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle type determining apparatus 100 comprises a vehicle portion extracting unit 112 for extracting a vehicle portion from an image being an object for recognition, a bonnet recognizing unit 114 for recognizing an area corresponding to a bonnet in the vehicle portion extracted by the vehicle portion extracting unit 112, and a vehicle type determining unit 113 for determining the vehicle type based on extent of inclination of a side surface of a bonnet area recognized by the bonnet recognizing unit 114. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
