PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of enhancing steering feeling at switch back operation of a steering wheel. SOLUTION: In the electric power steering device 10 of the present invention, when the assist non-requirement state is detected at the switch back operation of the steering wheel, a current instruction value of a motor is determined so as to make load torque Tj detected by a torque sensor 57 approaching zero. Thereby, drive torque of the motor corresponding to the current instruction value suppresses amplitude fluctuation of the load torque by cogging torque, and the steering feeling can be enhanced at the returning operation of the steering wheel 35.
