PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid for coating glass fibers, which firmly bonds EPDM rubber to a fiber cord and provides the fiber cord with a coated layer so as not to reduce bond strength by deterioration with time, especially deterioration with time in use especially under water. SOLUTION: The coating liquid for fiber coating is applied to a fiber cord, dried and cured so as to provide a glass fiber cord with a coated layer to be bonded to ethylene-α-olefin-diene terpolymer (EPDM) rubber and is obtained by mixing an aqueous solution of a monohydroxybenzene-formaldehyde condensate with a water dispersion of an ethylene-glycidyl methacrylate copolymer and a water dispersion of a styrene-butadiene copolymer.
