PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for press molding with reduced odor of formaldehyde obtained by extruding a composite resin material comprising a mixture of a PP resin, a filler such as wood powder or reinforcing fiber, etc., into a sheet with an extruder, and a press molded article using the same. SOLUTION: The material for press molding comprises 0.5-2 pts.wt. of a deodorant for aldehyde per 100 pts.wt. of the composite resin material comprising the PP resin, and wood powder. A press molded article (a rear parcel shelf) 10 is produced in the following processes, the material for press molding S is formed by adding 0.5-2 pts.wt. of the deodorant for aldehyde to 100 pts.wt. of the PP resin, talc, reinforcing fiber, extruding into sheet material for press molding S by an extruder 30, subjecting the material for press molding S to a heating/softening process, and then press molding into the required shape. The odor of aldehyde emitted from the wood powder, fibers, etc., is decomposed by the deodorant for aldehyde into the concentration lower than the predetermined concentration, and the odor is eliminated and the air in a car is cleaned.
