PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for producing an extrusion foamed styrene resin having excellent environmental compatibility and heat-insulation and desired mechanical properties. SOLUTION: The extrusion foamed styrene resin has a foam diameter distribution diagram characterized in that the areal ratio of the foam diameter in the whole range has multiple peaks, the foam anisotropy ratio of the foam existing in a region having a foam diameter larger than the first region having the smallest area ratio existing between the first peak existing in a region having smallest foam diameter among the multiple peaks and the second peak existing in a region having a foam diameter larger than that of the first peak and positioned closest to the first peak is 0.5-1.0.
