PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting apparatus having a modular jack which is mounted to a printed circuit board and is capable of suppressing occurrence of an electrical connection accident caused by an external factor. SOLUTION: This connecting apparatus 1 includes an apparatus body 2 having the printed circuit board 9 and the modular jack 13 mounted to the board 9, a cover body 3 disposed on the top face 2a side of the apparatus body 2, and door bodies 4, 5 movably disposed on the top face 2a of the apparatus body 2 so as to come close to the cover body 3 and formed so that a partial portion faces the top face 13a of the modular jack 13 when a modular plug 21 is inserted in the opening part 19 of the modular jack 13.
