PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block capable of contributing to the greening of townscape. SOLUTION: This block 11 comprises a block body 12 formed in a generally square shape when viewed from top. Projection parts 13a, 13b, 13c, 13d project from the side surfaces of the block body 12. Communication parts are formed on the rear surfaces of the projection parts 13a to 13d, and recesses 16 are formed in the front surfaces thereof, respectively. When a large number of blocks 11 are laid down, a sediment storage part 17 is formed between the blocks 11 adjacent to each other. The sediment storage part 17 is communicated with the other sediment storage part 17 through the communication part formed in each of the projection parts 13a to 13d of each block 11.
