PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distal end protection cap for an endoscope having such excellent impact resistance as can protect the distal end of an insertion tube of the endoscope when a strong impact is applied, and capable of being attached to/detached from the distal end of the insertion tube without a risk of accidental detachment. SOLUTION: An insertion tube inserting inner tube 11 and a protection outer tube are integrally formed with a space in-between, and a distal end fixing hole 11a at the most distal end of the insertion tube inserting inner tube 11 is formed in such an inverted tapered shape that the inner diameter Da larger than the outer diameter d of the insertion tube distal end 1a gradually becomes inner diameter Db smaller than the outer diameter d of the insertion tube distal end 1a rearward from the distal end part. When the insertion tube distal end 1a of the endoscope is inserted into the distal end fixing hole 11a from the rear, the distal end fixing hole 11a is pushed wide and elastically deformed by the insertion tube distal end 1a in the region where the inner diameter Db of the distal end fixing hole is smaller than the outer diameter of the insertion tube distal end 1a.
