ERROR-TOLERANT PROCESSOR SYSTEM

Disclosed is a processor system comprising at least one execution unit (1) for executing program instructions of an application, a program memory (3) for storing program instructions of the application and at least one error recovery routine, a main memory (2) for storing a set of variables of the application, and or a monitoring unit (10) for detecting errors of the execution unit (1) and/or the main memory (2, 7, 8) and starting an error recovery routine in case an error is detected. The error recovery routines are designed such that each error recovery routine restores different subsets of the set of variables.
