The invention relates to a method for detecting a path in a communications network comprising a plurality of nodes (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) with the aid of a routing metric. The inventive method consists in inputting a quantity determined on the basis of number of paths passing through the nodes (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) in the routing metric. A device and a computer program product for carrying out said method are also disclosed.
