<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor with discharge performance of condensed water higher than ever before. <P>SOLUTION: In a dual-structured protector (4) of this gas sensor, diameter W1 of a bottom hole (412) on an outer protector (41) is defined larger than a diameter W2 of a bottom hole (422) on inner protector (42). Therefore, when condensed water pooled inside the protector (4) drops outward through these bottom holes (411, 412), the smaller surface area of condensed water becomes by surface tension while the larger open area of the bottom holes on the protector (4) becomes, in interface between the bottom hole (412) and the bottom hole (412). Namely, discharge performance of condensed water in the oxygen sensor (1) means to be higher than ever before because this protector (4) utilizes not only gravity but also surface tension of condensed water to remove the condensed water from outer edge of the bottom holes (411, 412). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
