A hollow molding (1) of fiber-reinforced plastics (K), with at least two hollow chambers (6, 7, 8) bounded by a crosspiece (15) connecting outer wall parts (2, 3), is a single-piece compression molding of plastics matrix containing endless fibers (14, 14a). The fibers (14a) in the crosspiece run directly between the outer walls around the chambers; or extend from each outer wall into the crosspiece, which contains fibers anchored together in the matrix. Independent claims are included for: (1) a variant of the hollow shaped article, consisting of two single-piece, shell-form compression moldings of plastics matrix containing endless fibers, having integrated crosspiece partial regions and joined together in a flat joining region, where the crosspiece partial regions have integral, complementary shape-fitting regions running at least in a direction parallel to the joining region and containing endless fibers extending from the crosspiece partial regions; (2) a method for producing single-piece compression moldings (16') of fiber-reinforced plastics (K) containing endless fibers (14, 14a) in a multi-part compression mold (W) under elevated temperature and pressure, by laying plastics-impregnated prepregs in the mold then pressing in a plasticized state, where core(s) (11, 12, 13) are incorporated in the mold to form the hollow chamber(s) (6, 7, 8) with outer wall regions (2, 3) and a crosspiece (15); and (3) a variant on the method, in which prepregs are placed on two sides of the core. |
