A safety lock of the type with safety plates or gorges comprises means that keep temporarily one or more gorges deactivated, in such a way as to enable actuation of the lock with a first key, and means for deactivating said means in such a way as to enable actuation of the lock only with a second key different from the first key. The adaptation of the lock to operate only with the second key is obtained simply as a result of using the second key in the lock.
