PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable even a rejected pale-color print which shows almost no density difference although its area is large to be surely detected. SOLUTION: This printed matter examining device comprises a difference absolute value circuit 30 which creates a difference image between an examination image and a reference image, a threshold value generation circuit 36 which creates a threshold value image for masking the edge part of a residual pattern in the difference image, a masking circuit 40 which creates a masked image by masking the difference image with the threshold value image, an integrating circuit 42 which integrates pixel values based on a 16×16 pixel rectangular region as a unit regarding the masked image and an interpretation circuit 44 which interprets that a rejected print is generated when an integrated value is above an interpretation level. |
