An equalizer for the same channel repeater for a terrestrial DTV(Digital Television) broadcasting system is provided to decode and encode symbol data exactly through various algorithms to remove noise included in an input signal. An equalizer for the same channel repeater includes a first storage unit(308), a second storage unit(311), a decoding unit(304), a MUX(Multiplexer) terminal(305), a control unit(307), an error signal calculating unit(306), a tap coefficient updating unit of an FFF(Feed Forward Filter)(309), and a tap coefficient updating unit of an FBF(Feedback Filter)(310). The error signal calculating unit calculates an error signal by using a signal outputted from the MUX terminal and a signal stored in the second storage unit. The tap coefficient updating unit of the FFF compares a signal outputted from the error signal calculating unit with a signal stored in the first storage unit to update the tap coefficient of the FFF. The tap coefficient updating unit of the FBF compares the signal outputted from the MUX terminal with the signal outputted from the error signal calculating unit to update the tap coefficient of the FBF.
