Foodstuffs making machine has stuffing pipes, a hollow spindle element, and material feed device (8). A feed stop command device transmits stop signals, a braking element-release drive device releases the brake element from the stop tube (2), and a stuffing tube drive device (11) moves hollow spindle elements into connection with the first hollow spindle element. A stuffing sleeve suspension element is arranged to move backwards from the stuffing tube and operation of the brake release drive device and of the stuffing tube (11) can be controlled by switching the material drive stop signal.
