<p>936,735. Semi-conductor rectifiers. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Feb. 29, 1960 [Feb. 27, 1959], No. 7126/60. Class 37. In a rectifier assembly in which rectifier elements 1 are enclosed in housing, one wall 5 of which is made of metal, a path for conduction of heat from one element to the wall 5 includes a metal plate 7 and an electrically insulating foil 6, the plate 7 being thicker than the foil 6 and lying between said one element and the foil, which lies flat between the plate 7 and the wall 5, the surface of the said one element being of smaller area than the foil and the plate, and the plate having edge portions 9 which contact recesses 8 in the housing to prevent movement of the plate in its own plane. Preferably the area of the plate is at least twice the area of the rectifier element. Metal wall 5 is secured to insulating housing member 3 by bent-over portions 5a which engage lateral recesses in member 3, and has a portion which extends beyond the member 3 and is provided with an aperture. The plate 7 is of metal of good thermal conductivity, e.g. Al. The stack of elements 1 and connection members 2, which extend through apertures in the housing, is kept in compression by a spring 4. A number of stacks in a common housing may be disposed regularly on a common plate 7.</p> |
