A refrigerator is provided to save energy by varying generation of anion depending on the opening angle of a door and to prevent outside polluted air from entering the refrigerator by creating an air curtain containing anion when the door is open. A refrigerator comprises a body(1), a door(20), an anion generator(40), a sensor(60), a power controller, a blower fan(51), and an air curtain unit(50). The body has a storage compartment(10) opened and closed by the door. The anion generator is mounted on the body, wherein the amount of anion generation depends on voltage applied thereto. The sensor detects the opening angle of the door. The power controller varies voltage applied to the anion generator in accordance with a signal detected by the sensor. The blower fan blows air containing anion from the anion generator. The air curtain unit comprises a duct(55) guiding the air blown by the blower fan to a front opening of the storage compartment, so as to create an air curtain at the front opening. |
