An automatic transmission for a vehicle is provided to change speed in multi shifts by installing an additional leading shift gear to an output side of a torque converter. A first planetary gear set(G1) is mounted in a torque converter(TC), in which a first ring gear(R1) of the first planetary gear set is connected to an input shaft(10) of the torque converter and a first planetary carrier(PC1) of the first planetary gear set is connected to a first input path(20) of a gear box. A hub side of a first clutch(C1) is connected to the input shaft, and the first planetary carrier is connected to a drum side. A hub side of a first brake(B1) is connected to a stator(ST) of the torque converter via a one-way clutch(30).
