A belt-grinder for steel pipes is provided to grind the outer surface of a pipe regardless of the diameter of the pipe by moving a grinding-unit conveying unit and a support-unit conveying unit. A belt-grinder for steel pipes comprises a grinding unit(110), a support unit(130), a grinding-unit conveying unit(140), and a support-unit conveying unit(150). The grinding unit includes a main roll(113), a sub roll(114), a sand paper(115), an idle roll(116), and a grinding frame(112). The main roll is rotated by a driving source(111). The sub roll is separated from the main roll. The sand paper is wound around the main roll and the sub roll to grind the outer surface of a pipe. The idle roll is disposed between the main roll and the sub roll to provide tension to the sand paper. The main roll, the sub roll, and the idle roll are mounted on the grinding frame. The support unit includes a support roll and a support frame. The support roll is placed in the opposite side of the main roll to press the pipe toward the main roll. The support roll is mounted on the support frame. The grinding-unit conveying unit and the support-unit conveying unit move the grinding frame and the support frame in a direction normal to the movement direction of the pipe to control space between the main roll and the support roll. |
