摘要 A method for producing modified carbon nanotubes is provided to obtain carbon nanotubes having improved dispersibility and vertical aligning capability, and to obtain an electron-emitting source having improved and uniform electron emitting property, thereby improving uniformity of pixels. A method for producing modified carbon nanotubes comprises the steps of: adding an acidic solution or basic solution to carbon nanotubes; and irradiating the resultant product obtained from the preceding step with gamma rays to obtain modified carbon nanotubes. The acidic solution is at least one selected from nitric acid, sulfuric acid, aqueous hydrogen peroxide, chromic acid and manganic acid, and the basic solution is aqueous ammonia, a mixture of aqueous ammonia with hydrogen peroxide or potassium hydroxide. A concentration of the acidic solution is 10-60 wt.% and a concentration of the basic solution is 10-40 wt.%.
