A digital recorder and a control method thereof are provided to enable a viewer not to feel anxious about the interruption of broadcasting or inconvenience by restraining a non-signal output section due to the interruption of a broadcasting signal when the broadcasting signal is received and reproduced. A digital recorder includes a tuner(139), a recording unit(132), and a storing unit(136). The tuner receives a digital broadcasting signal. The recording unit corrects an error of the received digital broadcasting signal and records the corrected digital broadcasting signal in a DVD(Digital Versatile Disk). The storing unit stores the first recording location information of the DVD when data in a section, where the correction of the error is impossible, is recorded by the recording unit.
