An electron emission display device is provided to control a luminous ratio of R, G and B phosphor layers, without manipulating a driving circuit, thereby easily controlling white balance. A first substrate(2) and a second substrate(4) are opposite to each other. Electron emission elements are formed in an array pattern on the first substrate. R, G and B phosphor layers(8R,8G,9B) are formed on the second substrate, and anode electrodes(12) are positioned on the phosphor layers. The R, G and B phosphor layers have thicknesses relative to respective luminous efficiency, in which the phosphor layer with the lowest luminous efficiency has a thickness two times thicker than a grain size of a phosphor.
