THE TWO-DIRECTIONAL BAR CODE SYMBOL AND ITS ENCODING AND DECODING METHOD

A 2D barcode and an encoding/decoding method thereof are provided to realize popularity of the 2D barcode by reducing necessary of a high sensitive reader while providing easy recognition and a powerful error correction function. A 2D barcode is formed by arranging element modules of a barcode on a plane. Each element module has a different reflexibility and is a CEM(Circular element module). An interval between the CEMs is constant, the CEMs have the same size, and the inside of each CEM is filled according to each 2D barcode. The interval between centers of two neighboring CEMS is wider than a diameter of the CEM. The 2D barcode includes 12X9 CEMs and an aspect ratio of the 2D barcode is 4:3. The 2D barcode is surrounded by a close bar and a quiet zone having width of 4 CEMs is formed to the outside of the 2D barcode.
