METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COMPENSATION OF RX LEVEL OF MOBILE STATION

An apparatus and a method for compensating for a reception level of a mobile terminal are provided to prevent degradation of communication performance caused by a transmission spurious phenomenon of a reception band by compensating the reception level value of message. A mobile terminal measures the first reception level of an idle frame of multi-frame of a traffic channel and the second reception levels of the other remaining frames than the idle frame(S201,S203). The mobile terminal calculates an average value of the measured second reception levels(S205). The mobile terminal calculates a difference value between the first reception level and the average value of the second reception levels(S207) and compares the calculated difference value with a pre-set threshold value(S209). If the difference value is greater than the threshold value, the mobile terminal adds an offset to each of the measured second reception levels(S211). The mobile terminal varies a transmitted reception level value based on a measured reception quality value(S213).
