FILTER AND PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE THEREOF

A filter and a plasma display device with the same are provided to represent a black image by positioning an external light shielding sheet on a front of a display panel. A plasma display device includes a plasma display panel and a filter formed on a front of the panel. The filter has an external light shielding sheet composed of a base(500) and a patterned portion(510) formed on the base. The patterned portion has a depressed lower end(520) which is adjacent to the panel. A width of the lower end is 3.6 to 17.5 times as large as a depth of a groove formed on the lower end, and a height of the lower end is 16 to 85 times as large as the depth.
