MENU TRANSMIT AND CONTROL SYSTEM BETWEEN COMMUNICATION TERMINAL AND EXTERNAL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE SAME

A system and a method for transmitting and controlling a menu between a communication terminal and an external device are provided to allow a user to connect an external device to a communication terminal, control the menus shift of the terminal and execute a menu by manipulating a key board of the external device. A session handler(110) connects a data session communicating with an external device via a communication interface. A menu creator(140) protocol-converts a resource file of a menu to appear next time according to shifting of a menu, and transmits the data session. An event handler(120) emulates such that an event with respect to a selected menu received from the external device through the data session occurs as if a key event occurred in an application being executed. A menu parser(210) converts menu information included in a data packet received from a communication terminal(100) into a menu format that can be displayed, converts an event according to the selected menu according to a predetermined protocol and transmits it to the communication terminal. A menu display(220) outputs the converted menu format to a screen.
