A method for providing location information of a mobile terminal using an MMS(Multimedia Messaging Service) is provided to transmit location information of a terminal to a terminal with a pre-set number when the terminal is lost. A controller of a mobile terminal checks whether a location information providing function and a phone number to which an MMS is to be transmitted have been set in the mobile terminal(S201). The controller checks whether an event occurs in the mobile terminal(S203). When an event occurs, the controller checks whether an RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) signal is received by the mobile terminal(S223). When an RFID signal is received, the controller checks a location of the mobile terminal(S211). the controller generates a map image by indicating location information of the mobile terminal on a map stored in a map storage unit of a memory unit(S213). The controller generates an MMS by indicating additional information on the generated map image(S215), and transmits the MMS(S217).
